Geofencing vs. MDM: why the school day needs its own control plane
Your MDM manages devices as assets. It was never designed to enforce a geofenced, schedule-aware school day. Here's the gap, and how to close it.

An MDM (Jamf, Intune, Google Admin) is inventory and configuration management. It answers 'what devices do we own and how are they set up.' It is excellent at that and terrible at the thing schools now need: turning policy on and off automatically based on where a device is and what time it is, and doing it across a whole fleet in seconds. This piece walks through the technical difference between asset management and a real-time control plane, why polling-based enforcement is too slow for lockdowns, and why layering a geofenced enforcement layer on top of your existing MDM beats ripping it out.
